WIMAX / WIFI

As more and more people depend on the Internet to communicate with friends, to search for information and to conduct their business, it makes sense to enable these people to call each other. Today many people have used their computers or laptop to talk to their friends. To bring telecommunication to the next level, Nokia roll-out E-series range of mobile phones to enable users to connect to the Internet via Wifi cloud without the use of SIM card. Once connected to the Internet, users can direct the calls to their own Mobile Phone Network Operator.

If both parties are in the Wifi environment, the call will not be charged. If the callee, or call receiver is not in the Wifi environment, then it will be a one leg call. The caller will have to pay for the one leg call, which is generally cheaper than a two leg call.

With the rapid rollout of Wimax services in many countries, it will soon be possible to initiate a call from a moving vehicle. A different set of Mobile Phone will have to be used.
